About Sheffield Maternity Forum

Sheffield Maternity Forum is a service-user group for parents who are interested in enhancing the quality of maternity services in Sheffield. We advise on developments in local maternity services by feeding back to maternity care providers and commissioners, comments made by parents on any matters concerned with maternity care. In some cases we advocate on behalf of a Mother or Father who has a grievance with the care they received. We also relay positive comments and messages of thanks.

Our work feeds into the Sheffield maternity Services Liaison Committee (MSLC) and the Maternal Health Partnership. Being a member of Sheffield Maternity Forum might also involve attending these meetings and;

  • helping to organise consultation events in the community for maternity service users
  • talking to other parents individually and in small groups about their experiences of maternity care
  • commenting on parent information leaflets
  • helping to publicise the Forum and recruit new members

We welcome feedback on any matter concerning maternity care and we are particularly keen to hear from Fathers.

If you are interested in joining the Sheffield Maternity Forum, or have a comment to make, good or bad, please do get in touch!
