Welcome!

Do you have an interest in maternity services in Sheffield?

Have you just become parents or are you expecting a baby?

Do you want to help improve Sheffield maternity services?

If you answered yes to one or more of those questions, then why not join Sheffield Maternity Forum and help to make a difference to Sheffield Maternity Services.

Sheffield Maternity Forum is for women who are interested in enhancing the quality of maternity services in Sheffield. We help to advise on developments in local maternity services by feeding back, to maternity care providers and commissioners, comments made by parents, on any matters concerned with maternity care.

Our work feeds into the Sheffield Maternity Services Liaison Committee (MSLC) and the Maternal Health Partnership. Being a member of Sheffield Maternity Forum might also involve attending these meetings and

  • helping to organise consultation events in the community for maternity service users
  • talking to other women individually and in small groups about their experiences of maternity care
  • commenting on parent information leaflets
  • helping to publicise the forum and recruit new members

We welcome feedback on any matter concerned with maternity care, ranging from information in pregnancy, availability of home birth, postnatal care and support, to the use of pain relief, complementary therapies and facilities at the Jessop Wing. If you would like to comment on Sheffield maternity services please complete our feedback form and return it to Sheffield Maternity Forum via post or email.

We meet monthly (see meeting dates), for 2 hours, normally at Centre in the Park, Norfolk Park (travel and childcare expenses will be met). If you are interested in becoming a member of Sheffield Maternity Forum please contact us:
